St. Joseph School welcomes Mrs. Katie Hoyt, 1st Grade Teacher, to our Bulldog family for the 2024-2025 school year.
“This is my 13th year in the education field, 10th in first grade. First Grade is the BEST grade and most fun to teach. There is so much to learn, but these standards can be so fun with just a pinch of creativity! I am excited to fill this role at our school. I’m from Morrilton. I live with my husband John, our 13 year old Khrystian who will be in 8th grade at SJS.
I’m am so excited to be back in Catholic education. I taught at St.John-Russellville right out of college, and knowing what I am coming back into is very comforting. I love our Catholic faith. I truly believe that the Holy Family should be in our classrooms. I’m just truly thankful to be a Catholic. I’m looking forward to teaching not only our state standards, but teaching our kids how be saints in the making!"

Since 1912, the St. Joseph Bazaar has not only supported our students & school, but also provided a fellowship opportunity in our tightly knit parish & community. On Tuesday, St. Joseph 5th grade enjoyed "Vocations Day" sponsored by the DOLR Catholic Schools Office with support from the Vocations Office. The students learned all about the various religious orders in Arkansas. They had all of their questions answered and showed a lot of interest in the different ways God calls each of us. What a wonderful experience for our 5th grade! Thank you for all who made this event possible.

St. Joseph Parish Volunteer Day Committee asked Ms. Bassham's art students to submit possible t-shirt designs for their Volunteer Day on March 9th. The student with the winning design was Izzie Garrett! She received a $25 dollar gift card to Chick-fil-a for her artwork being chosen. Way to go, Izzie! #FaithLearningLiving
What's happening in Mrs. Medina's 6th grade Art class? "Their most recent project has been a sewing unit. They have learned to sew on a button and are currently working on sewing a pillow together. The Flea Market blessed us with needles, thread, fabric, and polymer stuffing for the pillows. Our next focus in the unit will be embroidery, specifically, embroidering an initial onto a piece of fabric. Several students have no experience with needles or sewing and they have truly stepped up and succeeded. Those who have experience have been so helpful to the other students," said Mrs. Emily Medina, K-6 Art Teacher. Way to go, 6th grade!
