Yesterday, 4th graders had a great time on their field trip to the Plum Bayou Mounds Archeological State Park! "During our visit, we enjoyed a guided tour through the mounds where we learned about their history and significance. The students also worked their way through an artifact maze using a dichotomous key, made beautiful arrowhead necklaces, and had a lot of fun playing traditional Native American games. It was amazing to see their curiosity and creativity come alive throughout the day. Thank you to all the parents who joined us and helped make the trip so special. We were able to create memories that the students will remember for a long time!" commented Mrs. Gooch, 4th Grade Teacher. #FaithLearningLiving

Our first graders showed their giving hearts as they wrapped up their Advent coin drive last week! "Together, these sweet kiddos collected just under $700 in coins to donate to Saint Francis Veterinary Clinic here in town. The money will go toward helping a family in need pay for a vet bill or even help prolong a beloved pet’s life. We were over the moon to learn that Hounds’ Hideaway generously matched our donation, doubling the impact of our students’ kindness.
We are so proud of our first graders for leading with compassion and living out the true spirit of giving this Advent season," commented Ms. Hoyt, 1st Grade Teacher. Fantastic job, 1st grade!

Last week at St. Joseph Middle School, 4th grade students in Mrs. Gooch's Science class investigated sound energy and explored patterns in how sound travels. "They applied their previous knowledge about how sound moves and demonstrated their understanding through a hands-on activity in the classroom. Students were excited to make predictions, test their ideas, and observe how vibrations create the sounds we hear," explained Mrs. Gooch. How interesting! #FaithLearningLiving

Congratulations to Juniors Avery Cooper and Max Gilbert, as well as Seniors Reagan Turner and Trevor Jackson for being recognized by the Conway Morning Rotary!
"Each year, the Conway Morning Rotary Club honors 2 Juniors and 2 Seniors from St. Joseph High School as part of their Student Recognition Program. These students are selected due to their academic accomplishments, participation in extracurricular activities, and willingness to volunteer their time in service both in and out of school. Students attend a breakfast where the Morning Rotary officially recognizes their achievements," explains Mrs. Morgan Evans, SJHS Counselor.
We are so proud of each of you! #FaithLearningLiving

This year, the Elementary specialty schedule has time built in for some very special guests. "There has been 'Faith and Fun' with Mrs. Diane Bausom, the Extension Service, STEM with Mrs. Amy Covington, and this week was Hounds Hideaway with SJES parents Mrs. Lacey Vance and Mrs. Hailey Manion. They taught the students about how animals communicate, what careers working with animals are like, and just how to be safe with dogs! We had a blast soaking up the puppy cuddles this week!" explained Mrs. Belew.
Thank you to all for making a positive impact in the lives of our students! #FaithLearningLiving

Mrs. Enderlin's, Mrs. Hambuchen's and Mrs. Haver's 2nd grade classes have been learning all about Ancient Greece and the many contributions the Greeks made to our world. "One of their favorite topics was the Olympic Games! To wrap up their learning, students took part in their very own 2nd Grade Olympics. The day began with a procession and opening ceremony, followed by exciting events like the javelin throw (paper airplanes), discus throw (frisbees), sprint and long-distance races, hurdle races (jumping over pool noodles), and a weight-lifting challenge (holding heavy bags the longest). The celebration ended with an award ceremony and closing ceremony to honor everyone’s hard work and great sportsmanship. It was a fun and memorable way to bring history to life!" explained Mrs. Hambuchen, 2nd Grade Teacher. #FaithLearningLiving

Today, Mrs. Nicole Rappold made a classroom visit to our 4th grade with a fun and interactive Saints game. She even brought stickers for each student as a reminder of our faith and the lessons we can learn from the Saints. "The students had a wonderful time learning about the Saints, participating in fun activities, and reflecting on their faith. It was a joyful and memorable day, and we are so thankful for the opportunity to bring these experiences to our classroom," commented Mrs. Gooch, 4th Grade Teacher. #FaithLearningLiving

St. Joseph School would like to send a heartfelt THANK YOU out to Mrs. Laura Williams who has coordinated and inspired our Bulldogs with the Little Dribblers program! She started Little Dribblers 20 years ago, teaching our students some basketball skills, which they showcased at many basketball games during halftime. It was a fan favorite to say the least!
While we will miss our Little Dribblers this year and in the future, we are so thankful to Mrs. Williams and all her helpers for inspiring our future basketball Bulldogs over the past 20 years! Go Bulldogs! #FaithLearningLiving

At St. Joseph Elementary, our kindergarten Bulldogs have been learning all about the five senses! "Students spent time exploring each sense, as well as the ways we are able to use them. They learned about the famous figures Helen Keller and Ray Charles, and how they were able to still be remarkable without some of their senses. We ended our learning making our own potato heads and labeling each sense," explained Mr. Bailey, Kindergarten Teacher. Great job, Bulldogs! #FaithLearningLiving
