On Monday, St. Joseph 6th grade took a field trip to visit the Discalced Carmelites in Little Rock and to the mother church of our diocese, the Cathedral of St. Andrew. "Students got to learn the history of both places and ask any questions they had about vocations and other things. They were able to visit with several Carmelite sisters and learn about how they live their vocation.They also got to explore different aspects of the Cathedral, including visiting the crypt and hearing the beautiful organ in the choir loft. It was a fun and faith filled experience!" commented Mrs. Jennifer Fullerton, 6th Grade Teacher. What a wonderful experience for our 6th grade! #FaithLearningLiving

At St. Joseph School, each grade level comes up with a service project to work on throughout the school year, so this year, the 6th grade chose to make mission rosaries that will be distributed throughout the world where they are needed. "Part of the 6th grade curriculum includes learning about the Luminous Mysteries throughout the year, along with each student making their own rosary with the help of Mrs. Royal, the Elementary Administrative Assistant. So, they decided to make rosaries with supplies purchased from Our Lady Rosary Makers. The goal was to make 250 rosaries between January and May of this year; the students made 260 rosaries, surpassing their goal this semester. With the addition of other rosaries, 6th grade mailed off 300 rosaries to Our Lady Rosary Makers in Louisville, Kentucky," explains Mrs. Jennifer Fullerton, 6th Grade Teacher.
