Mr Kordsmeier shows the class a photo of the Learjet 31 he typically flies. It has a capacity of eight passengers and two crew. He said it has to have two pilots because of the altitudes the plane reaches. One of them has to wear an oxygen mask all the time. #SJSuccess

Adam Kordsmeier, a certified flight instructor and corporate pilot, talked to 4th grade students about the principles of flight and the types of aircraft he flies. He's a 2006 SJS graduate and son of teacher Melanie Kordsmeier.

Third graders Sarai Flanagin, Bliss Woodson and America Gonzalez plant broccoli, cauliflower and spinach in the Elementary School garden that began in 2015. The class will water and maintain it and will conduct a salad taste test in May. #SJSuccess

Congratulations to SJS 8th graders Caleb Mallett and Lilly Hill. They were among others from area schools to receive the Marvin Delph Student Athlete Award from the Conway Athletic Awards Commission. Delph was a star basketball player from Conway who also excelled at the University of Arkansas.

Middle School students had a guest speaker February 15 who spoke about the needs of homeless people in Conway and Faulkner County. Ms Spring Hunter from the Conway Ministry Center opened the students' eyes to this issue and as a result will be involved in a class project during Lent to assist the homeless. #SJSuccess
