Eighth grader Anna Nabholz wins Peace Poster Contest

St. Joseph School's entry into the Lions Club International Peace Poster Contest was painted by 8th grader Anna Nabholz. The theme for the 2022-23 contest is "Lead With Compassion." For the last 30 years. Lions clubs around the world have proudly sponsored the contest  in local schools and youth groups. It encourages young people worldwide to express their visions of peace.
High school art teacher Penny Bassham works with the Conway Evening Lions Club to coordinate the competition. Students aged 11-13 were eligible to participate. Their entries are judged on originality, artistic merit, and expression of theme. From here, Anna's poster goes through District and State judging. If it makes it past those rounds, it would move to the International Level.   The International Grand Prize winner, which would be determined in early 2023, receives a $5,000 cash award and an engraved plaque..
