Brileigh Choate, Seth Mathis, and Cameron Gooch were the top three spellers

There's some spelling-related news to post. The first is that St. Joseph Middle School held a spelling bee this week. Teachers Jennifer Fullerton and Lindsey Thompson officiated. Each of the six fourth-sixth grade classrooms had their own spelling competitions earlier. The top two spellers from each class took part in the school-wide spelling bee on February 18.
Sixth-grader Brileigh Choate won 1st Place by correctly spelling the word "tabernacle." Seth Mathis, also a 6th grader, earned 2nd Place while fourth-grader Cameron Gooch was the 3rd Place winner. Each of these students received Amazon gift cards provided by Herman & Bonnie Moix and the St. Joseph School Class of 1967 Spelling Bee Endowed Fund. The latter is one of many established funds managed by the St. Joseph School Endowment and Charitable Trust for the betterment of our school.
Similar prizes were given to the top three spellers at the junior high level; eighth graders Andrew Tran, Caleb Grigg and Addison Choate. Andrew and Caleb competed in the Faulkner County Spelling Bee where Andrew finished in 3rd Place. Caleb came in 5th.
