Thirty-two new members inducted into NHS&NJHS

    Induction ceremonies for new members of the National Honor and Junior Honor Societies were held in the Spiritan Center on November 1st. Seventeen new members joined the NHS. They included Abbey Brewer, Lucas Covington, Drew Decker, Carolina Ferrer, Joseph Foley, Nicholas French, Cole Harness, Reid Hennessey, Blakely Holland, Kaitlyn Kordsmeier, Max Longing, Bryce Mallett, Ella Martin, Catherine Royal, Matthew Seiter, Christian Stobaugh, and Joshua Trantina. English teacher Katherine Gueringer is the NHS sponsor.
    Fifteen new members were brought in to the NJHS. They are Brendan Baker, Addison Choate, Caleb Grigg, Jenna Hofherr, Trevor Jackson, Brody Mallett, Ava Martin, Hollie Morgan, Vincent Porcaro, Abigail Simon, Isabella Simon, Autumn Skinner, Luke Thessing, Andrew Tran, and Allie Evans. Math and physics teacher Jeremy Elsinger is their sponsor.
    The common criteria for membership in either organization is to display good conduct and to promote leadership, service and character. NHS requires maintaining a 3.65 grade point average while the minimum GPA for NJHS is 3.5. These students must also score well on evaluations done by their teachers which examine each applicant's qualities of leadership, academic initiative, behavior, morals, and ethics.
