Juliana Ferrer recently received the Girl Scout Gold Award

For those who may not have seen it, there is a front-page story in the Conway Log-Cabin Democrat in which 2021 St. Joseph School graduate Juliana Ferrer is recognized for receiving the Girl Scout Gold Award. It's the most prestigious award a Girl Scout can be given. Scout literature states "Gold Award Girl Scouts are the dreamers and the doers who take 'make the world a better place' to the next level."
Juliana received the award for developing a project she is passionate about; teaching others on how to help sea turtles without living near the ocean. She began her work on it more than two years ago. It included creating a 15-minute documentary on the subject along with a website to assist people in doing their own environmental clean-ups.
A member of Girl Scout Troop 6746 for 11 years, Juliana will be studying marine biology at Rollins College in Winter Park, Fl. Her academic record and extracurricular achievements while attending St. Joseph School earned her a $218,000 Dean's Scholarship from the college.
