Our baseball team won last in the Quarter-Finals of the 2A Central District Tournament at Southside Bee Branch. The Bulldogs defeated Quitman 9-0. The win advanced the team to the Semi-Finals this afternoon, weather permitting, against Southside. It also qualified the team for the Regional Tournament at Tuckerman next week.
Cole Garner's pitching was the deciding factor in the game. He chalked up a 7-inning complete game giving up only one hit in the first inning. After that, Cole struck out 20 batters and walked only one. He threw 86 pitches and his strikeouts accounted for 20 of Quitman's 21 outs.
