Our St, Joseph Bulldogs Baseball Team ran its winning streak to 21 straight on Saturday at the 1A Regional Tournament in Pleasant Plains where they defeated the Midland High School Mustangs 14-4.
The score isn't indicative of how close the game was for 11 innings. It was knotted at 4-4 when the Bulldogs exploded in the top of that last frame by scoring 10 runs. Sophomore Travis Jackson, who'd pitched the last two innings behind George Heer and Cy Davis, closed the action out.
The team now moves on to the State Quarter Finals on Thursday, May 14, which are being hosted by the University of the Ozarks. It's scheduled to face the Magazine High School Rattlers at 3:00 p.m. on one of three fields in the area. Congratulations to our players and coaches for winning their second title on the road to the big dance. Go Bulldogs!
