Ms. Jackie Elsinger's forensic science class had a special visitor on October 9th. He was our own Bradley Fornash, a former Conway Police Officer and now Faulkner County Deputy Sheriff who's in charge of security for our school.
Ms Elsinger had asked Deputy Fornash to speak to her students about collecting and analyzing criminal evidence. "He showed us photos taken at actual crime scenes," she said. "The students were very engrossed when he talked about a bank robbery where money was taken but he noted that some of it was 'bait money' which included bills marked with special serial numbers." Deputy Fornash also noted that banks often use dye packs or trackers to follow the money which makes it easier to trace and can provide crucial evidence for a conviction.
The students were enthused by Deputy Fornash's appearance because it heightened their innate interest in solving mysteries and contributing to public safety.
