Look To The Skies

Conway area residents were treated to an airshow of sorts when up to 30 private planes took to the skies April 30th. This "Plane Parade" took place as a kind of salute to Toad Suck Daze which would have been held this weekend but was postponed due to the COVID-19 virus.
The planes took off from Conway's Cantrell Field and circled the city for about 45 minutes. Their route was planned with safety in mind. They flew at 1,000 feet and kept a quarter-of-a-mile apart. There were also planes with the Bulldog Flight Formation Team out of Cabot which flew higher and in patterns that left smoke trails behind them.
Father Tony took part in the parade, flying his Mooney M20-F single-engine aircraft. Mr. Jim Royal caught it on camera. The photos of the Bulldog Flight Formation Team were taken by Ray Nielsen. Notice the bird vying for space in one of those pictures!
