St. Joseph School

  Three St. Joseph Middle School athletes will be participating in the State Finals of the Knights of Columbus Free Throw Contest on March 1st at Morrilton High School. Fifth graders Sam Piraino, Janie Massey, and Patrick Royal shot their way into this competition that began February 16 at St. Joseph's Family Activity Center.
  The contest's First Round was sponsored by Knights of Columbus Council 4143 in Conway. There were five divisions for both boys and girls. Leading the way in the Nine Year-Olds Division were Kaitlyn Chandler and Cy Davis. Annabelle Trusty and Patrick Royal won the Ten Year-Olds Division. The Eleven Year-Olds Division winners were Hollie Morgan and Sam Piraino. Daniel Trusty finished First in the Thirteen Year-Olds Division, and Christian Stobaugh came out on top in the Fourteen Year-Olds Division.
   The District Contest was held a week later at Wonderview High School where Piraino and Royal finished strong. Annabelle Trusty was unable to take part because of illness, so Second Place winner Janie Massey took her spot and won the title.
