ACES Up Their Sleeves

Two St. Joseph High School teachers have joined a small group educators from across the U.S. who've become ACT Certified Educators (ACE) in three disciplines: Basics, English, and Reading.
English teachers Kathleen Gueringer and Alicia Yrle were recently notified, after many hours of training in Birmingham, Alabama, along with excellent scores on rigorous certification tests, that they've met the ACT's professional standards in these areas to prepare high school students for the ACT. The latter is used by most colleges and universities to make admission decisions.
Having such teachers on staff obviously gives St. Joseph's college-bound students an advantage.
