Literacy Night Goes Hawaiian

Thirty-five families were represented at St. Joseph Elementary School's annual Family Literacy Night on February 20th. "It's an opportunity to promote school family involvement and engagement," Principal Courtney Pope said. "The reading-oriented activities offered support and improve learning, development, and the health of children."
The age grouping of the participants rotate each year between Kindergarten and the Third Grade. This time, the activities were offered for 2nd and 3rd graders. The event was organized by Library Media Specialist Christy Pasierb with assistance from her family and Elementary School staff members. Centennial Bank volunteers also grilled burgers and hot dogs for the attendees.
