Dr. Karen Ferrer's 9th grade student made a game of literal equations

St. Joseph High School's  9th grade Algebra I students in Dr. Karen Ferrer's class recently made a game of solving literal equations. "They practiced rearranging famous math and science equations to solve for letters in their name," Dr. Ferrer said. " A literal equation is one with no numbers-only letters-such as ax + by= c."
The student's job was to make algebraic properties to solve (or isolate) for the variable (or letter) in those equations that matched a letter in their own name. Seen here are Jillian O'Dwyer, Jenna Hofherr and Ava Martin.
