Stations of Cross Commemorated

St. Joseph School began its weekly presentation of the Stations of the Cross on February 28th to coincide with the start of Lent.
The Stations are a series of 14 pictures or carvings portraying the events in the Passion of Christ from his condemnation by Pontius Pilate to his entombment. In this ceremony, students served as cross and candle bearers who went from Station to Station as the details were read aloud by 4th-12th graders and faculty.
Seniors Emily Briggler (left), Elizabeth Chandler, and Brooklyn Kordsmeier are seen here in front of Station V. This is when Simon of Cyrene helps Jesus carry his cross.
