Senior Named Distinguished Scholar

St. Joseph School senior Nicholas Brorman has been selected as an Arkansas Governor's Distinguished Scholar. This prestigious award is offered by the State of Arkansas and is valued at up to $40,000 over the span of four academic years (provided funding is available) and may be used at any approved Arkansas public or private college or university.

Among the eligibility requirements for receiving this scholarship are a 32 or above composite score on a single ACT test, a minimum 3.50 academic grade point average, and selection as either a National Achievement or National Merit Finalist. Brorman had a 34 ACT score, has a 4.0 academic grade point average, and was chosen a National Merit Finalist.

In the announcement Brorman received from the Arkansas Department of Higher Education, it reads "It is evident from your application that you are a very high achiever, both academically and in the area of leadership. The State of Arkansas and its colleges and universities are proud to have bright young leaders like you." Brorman, along with other statewide recipients, will participate in a virtual academic signing on April 28. He is the son of Wade and Stacy Brorman of Conway and plans to attend the University of Central Arkansas in the Fall.
