History Class Visits Southeast Arkansas

The 8th grade Arkansas History class visited the Japanese-American Internment Camp Museum and nearby cemetery in McGehee on September 30th. The class stopped at the cemetery in Rohwer first where they made rubbings of monuments and grave markers. One of them was for a dog named Pappy, which was buried there in 1942. The museum is housed in an old railroad station and includes photographs and artwork documenting life in the camp.
