Students who are referred by a classroom teacher and evaluated for growth in reading, spelling, and writing may have the opportunity to receive reading intervention. This intervention takes place outside of the general classroom three times a week. The St. Joseph School Reading Interventionist uses a variety of diagnostic assessments to determine areas of growth. Using an Orton-Gillingham approach, this targeted support is direct, explicit, and multisensory to effectively build students' literacy skills.
