Kids Make Holiday Sweet Treats

First graders at St. Joseph Elementary School, with some help from teachers, parents, and older students, made edible gingerbread houses on December 5. This has been a seasonal tradition at the school for a number of years.

" Mr. Randy Welch has been helping us for a decade or more," Principal Courtney Pope said. "He breaks all the graham crackers apart, cuts the corners, and makes the eaves for the house's construction." Parents make the icing and donate all the gum drops, candy canes, and other confections to decorate with.
