Two other teachers were recognized for their service at the May 8th event, Ray Nielsen and Karen Vandivere. Ms Vandivere had been nominated by her peers at both the Elementary and Middle Schools as "Educator of the Year" while Mr. Nielsen was similarly named for the High School. Both recently received Golden Apple Awards from the Conway Noon Lions Club in April and were presented with their Apple Awards at today's school gathering. Ms Vandivere teaches physical education while journalism and Arkansas history are Mr. Nielsen's fields.
